INTERSTELLAR RACING LEAGUE
Platform: PC Engine: Unreal
Team Size: 60 Timetable: 4 months
Interstellar Racing League is a fast pacing couch co-op racing game created by SixtyStrongs Studio at SMU Guildhall. It is a student project created by a team of 60 students within 3 months. As the producer in the team, I was responsible for managing several small development teams, building pipelines, balancing resources among different disciplines, and maintaining the communication stream between production team, game design team and stakeholders.
The most significant challenge in this project is the lack of experience of the development team, in fact this is the time for most of the students to have experience working in a team with more than 50 people. I started to help the team organizing by building the communication channels across the teams, one of the result is the communication pipeline plan, in which I illustrated the responsibilities of different roles in the team and how they communicate with each. It helped the team in establishing a general understanding of how the internal communication system works.
